******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat.
Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved.
If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs.
IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Guerra, 8 month old, spayed female, mixed breed, 15 pounds.
Guerra is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS area and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Best guess, we'd say Guerra is a chiweenie but her siblings appear to have some shepherd/Heinz 57/Houston special in there, too.
No matter what you want to call these pups, we can guarantee they are all LOVE BUGs and all around incredible dogs! Guerra in particular is very affectionate and loves treats and toys; she is very attached to her person and loves being carried.
She also loves barking to make herself known.
:) Guerra was rescued off the streets along with her mom & 5 siblings, and has been settling into a foster home well.
She is good with kids - having met ages 3-5 and 11+ before, people and the rest of her family.
As she's still a bit young, she has not met other dogs besides her siblings.
Having grown up thus far in a very big family, Guerra is a bit possessive of her things - toys and chews, in particular - but nothing that seems out of the ordinary.
We have no history with cats and, while she's done well so far with the kids she has met, we generally recommend homes with kids 10 years or older, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues.
Given her behavior thus far, and that she is herself a small gal, we think she could be around younger children with the usual supervision.
Guerra is still perfecting her manners including house, crate and leash skills.
She could definitely benefit from more leash time but is eager to please and just needs the practice.
Guerra is comfortable in her kennel and eats all meals in there, waiting to go outside for potty and play time.
Of course, she will need to learn a routine at her new furever home.
She has the occasional accident in her kennel but is mostly trained.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time.
