Meet Gus! This big lug came to us from a shelter, where he faced euthanasia due to overcrowding.
Gus is about 4-5 years old and he is such a love.
His favorite thing to do is to crawl into your lap, gently rest his head on your shoulder and snuggle - he'll stay like that for as long as you let him.
His second favorite pastime is playing with his dog friends - bitey face games and tug of war are the bees knees as far as Gus is concerned.
Gus needs a home with a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs.
He'd love to go hiking with you, or snuggle up on the sofa.
He bonds strongly with his person, or dog pals, so he needs someone that is home more than not and who is committed to giving him regular exercise and play.
He'd prefer another home with a playful dog, although he would do fine on his own as well.
If he doesn't have a doggy companion, he will be a bit of a velcro dog, and his requirement for daily exercise will be a bit more.
He is a total love, and very affectionate.
If big dogs climbing in your lap is offensive to you, Gus is probably not your guy.
We believe Gus spent most of his early life in a backyard and hasn't seen a home before so he needs work on his house manners.
With management he's great but he has no problem taking food right off of your counters if you aren't careful, and he believes furniture is for pouncing on.
He is crate trained and with supervision and management, he's starting to learn that living rooms are for relaxing and not for wrestlemania and parkour.
