Harley is a sweet boy who was found after New Year's Eve, possibly having run away from the fireworks.
He was Microchip, however, and we did find his owners, but they did not want him back.
They said they could not keep up with his grooming.
He was in horrific shape, and probably had not been groomed in two years.
He had an eye that had ruptured and had to be cleaned out and removed.
He is now happy and healthy and ready for his new home.
We were told he is eight years old.
He weighs about 20 pounds and he is a big, rather long bodied Lhasa Apso.
You could not however, ask for a kinder more, gentle, more grateful boy than this dog is.
He is so kind and sweet.
He has been through so much, and we want him to live out his years as happily as he possibly can.
He would probably prefer to be an only dog and is very quiet and laid-back.
He only barks when he is scared or confused at least so far at the Rescue.
We recently moved him in with a Foster so he can have a little quieter environment and a little peace and quiet.
He is house trained, and a perfect companion, for somebody who needs a faithful friend.
Harley is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks.
Harley's adoption fee is $250 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee.
All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue.

Benny is a sweet, happy Poodle mix boy who is still very much a puppy.
He is playful and mischievous and loves people as well as other dogs.
He would love a home with another dog to play with if possible.
Benny is non shedding and easy to work with.
He is always eager to please and craves your approval.
He seems to be fine around children as well.
He still needs some training (jumps up on people still sometimes) and needs supervision.
He has never "ruined anything but gets into paper etc.
He's a really cute boy and handsome as well.
He will make a wonderful life long pet.
Like many of our rescue dogs we are not sure how well housetrained Benny is.
But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train.
He is very eager to please.
