Meet Honey Bee! Our sweet Honey Bee needs a hero, an advocate, someone to be her champion…There’s so much to adore about her.
When she loves you, SHE LOVES YOU.
Honey Bee is cuddly and wiggly, rewarding your pets with licks.
She’s got a beautiful honey color coat and an inquisitive face framed by gremlin like ears that may be just a bit too big for her head.
She loves treats and long walks with the breeze blowing in her face.
She’s housetrained and is a pro with the doggy door.
HB loves napping in the afternoon, taking car rides, and would be a perfect couch companion for movie nights, sharing your popcorn.
What makes HB need a champion, you might ask?
She has severe vision loss due to Progressive Retinal Atrophy.
It’s not painful but is irreversible.
We are unsure if she can still see shadows but she’ll eventually lose all vision.
Blind dogs live very happy lives, but it causes HB to have some fear- based reactions.
It’s important to let her get to know you before expecting her to jump in your lap for the cuddles and affection we know she craves.
She gives cues that she needs her space or that she is fearful so it’s important to recognize and respect them.
Once she knows she is safe, she is back to being the loving, wiggly girl you’ve fallen in love with.
Honey Bee would thrive as an only dog in a quiet child free home with a patient person.
We are confident her person is out there, just waiting for our good girl.
