Hiya! My name is Hope and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Pointer mix Age: approx.
6 months Gender: Female Weight: 30 lbs (I think I'll be lbs fully grown) Height (paws to shoulders): TBD Length (nose to bum): TBD Current Location: Texas RESCUE STORY - Me and my three-week old littermates were rescued along with our mother.
Due to our mama's poor condition, all of us pups had to be weaned earlier than normal.
Unfortunately, our entire litter of 9 caught Parvo at just 5 weeks of age.
The entire rest of the litter passed away within a few days, except for me.
That's why my name is HOPE! I grew up at County Roads Rescue facility and recently was lucky enough to find a wonderful foster home where I can learn to be a regular doggy and get all ready to go to my forever home! TEMPERAMENT - I am your typical working breed puppy.
I am very loving, playful and incredibly intelligent! Check out my video- I'm learning general obedience skills already! I am super food motivated and my foster says I'm eager to please and easy to train.
I am looking for an active family who has the time and energy to take me for lots of walks, play with me, and give me all the attention that I need! I am just a puppy, remember, so I will need a patient human who is happy to work with me on leash manners, nipping, excitability, etc....
all the normal "puppy stuff"! I'm remarkably smart though and am already such a great girl, so I'm sure I'll be the bestest behaved pup in no time! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate - I am a very energetic girl when I'm playing, but once I get my exercise in for the day, I'm happy to cuddle and snooze with my person.
Truly, I'm the perfect adventure pup! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids Unknown.
Dogs Yup! I LOVE other dogs and love to wrestle! Check out the clip in my video - wrestling is so fun hehe! Cats Yes - video coming soon! PREY DRIVE - Unknown.
I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc.
My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING: Leash skills Being the smarty pants I am, I already have learned to walk pretty well on a leash! I would love an adopter who is willing to continue working with me on my leash skills though :) Crate trained - yes! House trained Yup! I may have a few accidents when I go to my new home though, so frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me remember my housetraining skills.
Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges).
Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates.
WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES: I am a healthy, vaccinated girl who will be spayed & microchipped (in mid-March).
I will be tested for heartworm, distemper, parvo, and Brucellosis before travelling.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted.
West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits.
These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $ CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my ground transport to Lynwood, Washington.
My adopter needs to be willing to drive to Lynwood, Washington to pick me up! :) ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer.
WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible.
Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
