I am a male, white Australian Shepherd mix.

Huckleberry is our 1 year old Australian Shepherd mix......Huckleberry is a very high energy smart boy. Herding dogs are bred to work. Therefore, when they don't have opportunity to herd cows or sheep, they have to be given other "jobs" so to speak to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated. These types of dogs easily get bored and are known to develop various behavioral issues once bored. Huckleberry needs a home with an experienced dog owner that understands the breed and the dedication involved in keeping them happy. Huckleberry is not the best dog for a first time dog owner as the breed can be a bit challenging. Stop by the shelter and spend time with him to see if he is the right match for you.

Huckleberry will thrive in her forever home and be your faithful companion. He will be responsive to positive reinforcement training. Our experienced staff is available to talk with you, answer your questions and provide advice on how to transition him to your home.

Huckleberry is neutered, dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and is up to date with vaccinations. His additional adoption fee is for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC, and he'll get one free exam at our vet's office, and a microchip. If you'd like to adopt him please call or visit us and we are open daily from 11am to 7pm.
