We’ve outlined everything you need to know before adopting your new best friend. Each animal at our shelter has their own story, and we want to make sure your next chapter together is filled with health, love, and friendship. We take special steps to make sure both you and your future pet are ready to find one another.
If you’re interested in adopting a pet, please see all of our available pets here before visiting the shelter. We know that high levels of foot traffic and crowded adoption areas create stressful environments for our animals. Because of this we don’t allow the public to free roam the kennels. Our priority is to provide a calm and controlled environment where our animals are happy, healthy and stress-free. Also, a good majority of our animals are also being cared for by foster families out in our communities while they prepare for adoption so the pet you want to visit may not be at the adoption center.
OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
View available animals online: Begin the process by viewing our Available Pets page and finding the animal(s) you are interested in adopting. If a pet is labeled “In a foster home”, please call our adoption center to schedule a meet and greet as these pets are not in our shelter.
Visit us in person: Next visit our adoption center during regular adoption hours to meet our pets. Our team can answer questions and provide guidance to help match you with the perfect pet.
Complete the adoption: Once you have found your perfect match, a Pawsitive Placement Team member will help you through the process of the adoption contract so you can bring home your new family member.
