IKE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

PERSONALITY TRAITS:

Ike is one handsome boy! Somebody, somewhere along the line, loved this guy. Ike is good off leash and knows sit, shake, lay down, stay & come (see his short video). Ike is a very sweet, treat-motivated, smart dog! He loves to learn new things or showoff what he already knows. He would excel in positive reinforcement training where he could add to his repertoire of tricks. Ike loves people and will do anything to please. Ike has been friendly with other canine friends and may enjoy a playmate in his new home. That being said, he is not good with intact males.

While in a successful, happy playgroup with a neutered male and a female, an intact male was introduced and Ike began posturing over him. There was a small scuffle that was easily separated and neither dog was injured. Ike then left the intact male alone with increased supervision from staff, but still kept his eye on the intact male. Ike is very playful with neutered males and females. Ike would do well with older children – he might accidentally bump in to toddlers and knock them over so older, respectful children is recommended. Already have a canine family member? Bring them with you to the shelter for a proper meet n' greet! (No intact males, please!)
