Meet Indy
Hi I'm Indiana Jones. Also known as Indy or Jonesy.
I'm currently 31lbs, and likely still growing a bit. I am about a year old now and I can be high energy, I love to go for walks and hikes, and play fetch in the yard. I also like to cuddle and watch TV. I am not suitable for humans that are couch potatoes!
I am very agile even though I am short legged, and I would be an amazing agility dog!! Seriously, I can jump high, run fast, and I need both physical and mental stimulation.
I am extremely food motivated, and I can be a little guardy over high value treats such as Bones and Bully Sticks (only towards other dogs, not humans). I was super skinny when I was found, and you could see all my ribs, so now I feel like I'm always hungry even when I'm not.
I am super smart, and I learn quick BUT I get so excited so easily, I lose my focus, so my humans need to keep me calm and be consistent. Therefore, I should be in a home with NO YOUNG CHILDREN. I go over my excitement threshold very easily, and kids get me too excited to the point of me wanting to nip at their heels. (I must be part herding dog or something).
I am good with other dogs BUT I can get so over excited that I forget to pay attention to the cues from other dogs.
I like to play too much and try to get other dogs to play, even when they are telling me off, which can make other dogs not like me. Because I get way too excited in uncontrolled environments around other dogs, I am not a good candidate to attend off leash dog parks, so please don't take me there. I'd prefer to go on hikes on a long line (not off leash) and long leash walks with my humans.
I love cats but I can be super irritating to them because I want them to play with me! I'm not aggressive but they look like soft squeaky toys to me.
I LOVE people, but I'm unsure about them upon first meetings, especially men, so I will bark at them, but they ignore me, then toss me a treat, and then I love them and jump on them and want pets!
