Mission
IndyHumane’s mission is to improve animal welfare in central Indiana. We are committed to ending the cycle of pet overpopulation, providing affordable pet ownership, and ensuring the well-being, health and safety of all animals in our care. We strive to promote the human animal bond and the powerful impact this mutually beneficial relationship has on individuals, families, and the Indianapolis community.
Adoption Policy
Those interested in one of our animals should come into the shelter to fill out an application in person. After filling out the application, a counselor will review the animal's medical and behavior information with the potential adopter. The potential adopter will have a chance to meet with the animal outside of their kennel (when applicable), and generally adoptions can be processed so that the animal can go home the same day.
