My name is Jasper.

I am a male, blue black Australian Cattle Dog mix.

Age: The shelter staff think I am about 5 months old.

More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jan 27, 2024.

Jasper is our 4 month old Australian Cattle Dog mix......Jasper is a very high energy smart boy. Herding dogs are bred to work. Therefore, when they don't have opportunity to herd cows or sheep, they have to be given other "jobs" so to speak to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated. These types of dogs easily get bored and are known to develop various behavioral issues once bored. Jasper needs a home with an experienced dog owner that understands the breed and the dedication involved in keeping them happy. Jasper is not the best dog for a first time dog owner as the breed can be a bit challenging. Stop by the shelter and spend time with him to see if he is the right match for you.

Jasper will thrive in her forever home and be your faithful companion. He will be responsive to positive reinforcement training. Our experienced staff is available to talk with you, answer your questions and provide advice on how to transition him to your home.

Jasper is neutered, dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and is up to date with vaccinations. His additional adoption fee is for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC, and he'll get one free exam at our vet's office, and a microchip.
