Meet Jeru
Jeru was surrendered to the Powder Pals prison dog program last fall. His people were unable to give him the time and exercise he needed. He is now a 10 months old what appears to be a pure bred black Labrador retriever. He is unusually easy going lab pup who loves to give and receive affection. His easy going attitude partly came from his having a large lab step on him while playing and injured his shoulder. This caused us to put him on leash and limit his activities until it healed, leading to an exceptionally patient young dog to be around.
He is a dog who is cleared for moderate activity but should not be worked hard at continual full speed as he may come up limping. He knows 15 obedience commands. If you were looking for a trained lab who is kind and easy going here is your dog. He does require daily exercise preferably in a fenced yard. He also exhibits separation anxiety and would do best with a stay at home person. He also can be fearful of aggressive dogs and should remain at home where he can find time to decompress from all the changes. He can pull when excited, making it challenging for an older person to restrain him.
