ABOUT JEWEL (BEBEE)
his story breaks our heart. In early 2021, a wonderful man reached out to us. He had been caring for Jewel, for his daughter, for approximately a year (Avondale, AZ). His daughter got Jewel from a rescue when she was four-year's-old. The daughter had just graduated from college and asked her parents if they could look after Jewel while she headed to Seattle post-graduation to start her new career. Then COVID hit. She couldn't leave. Her parents had quite a few pets in the house and Jewel absolutely hated that. So much so that she lived in their 'craft room' where they would come and visit her and dote on her. They LOVED her but knew she would not tolerate the 'general pet population in the house' (they tried!). They reached out to us asking us to find a home for her that would allow Jewel to be the center of attention. We did. We loved her new family - LOVED THEM. They had her for two years. And then just a few weeks ago one of them passed away suddenly. And the other human + Jewel got the [blank] end of the stick. Jewel's owner reached out to us URGENTLY this AM (6/24/23) asking us to please help her baby. Life is completely upside down now, and anyone who has had a Bengal before knows how important routine is, and how difficult upheaval is for these sensitive souls. ----- Let us tell you what her current owner has to say: BeBee (AKA Jewell) truly is a little gem of a kitty. I adopted her several years ago from Bengal Rescue. She is shy, particularly at first, and warms up nicely to her selected person. In this case, her person is me. I notice that she definitely prefers women over men and I think that size and vocal tone have much to do with her preference. BeBee is a senior cat, now approximately 11 years old. She has no health problems that I am aware of. BeBee LOVES tummy rubs! We spend 30 minutes or more each day on the sofa just for that purpose. Not exactly a lap cat, she enjoys lying beside me while I read or watch television. BeBee loves watching football just like her mom! Her favorite toys are flying birds and she can spend hours watching birds and other wildlife in our backyard. BeBee has the most perfect purr '| She also has perfect bathroom habits. BeBee now eats a small portion of wet food twice a day and dry food at will. She is front declawed and neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. I'm rehoming BeBee for personal reasons. My long term domestic and business partner passed away unexpectedly on June 4th and my time in our home is quite short. ------ Jewel will be going to a loving foster home who has another cat that wants to be the only - so this is temporary.
