Meet Kaida
Kaida is a 6-7 month old sweet, silly terrier mix that currently weighs 25 lbs. She is expected to be around 40 lbs once she is full grown. She is a very playful, curious puppy with a goofball personality. She is the epitome of a social butterfly and loves everyone she meets right away. This adventurous girl loves to go on car rides and enjoys exploring new surroundings. She will be a great pup to join a family the loves to go on outdoor adventures, such as hiking or exploring nature trails.
Kaida is medium energy so she will require daily walks or some exercise sessions playing in the backyard. She loves to run and play with the resident dogs in her foster home in the backyard, and is learning how to play fetch with a tennis ball. She would benefit from having some snuffle mats, food dispensing toys, or puzzle games to provide her with mental stimulation exercises in her forever home on those rainy days where she wouldn't be able to go on her daily walks or outside play sessions.
Kaida is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She would do great in a home with kids of any age and would love to have a kid companion to play with in her forever home. The more hands for belly rubs and tennis ball throws, the better! She loves other dogs and would do best in a home with other dogs who want a fun, playful doggy sibling to romp around with and play tug-o-war with toys. She can be silly and excitable when meeting new dogs, and is working on respecting boundaries when initiating play with other dogs. She doesn't quite understand when other dogs don't want to play with her because she just loves them immediately and wants them to be her best friend, but she has made great progress in her foster home with the resident dogs.
Kaida is kennel trained and potty trained. She is picking up fast on leash training, so we know this smart girl will have this down in no time. She would love to snuggle in bed with her human before falling asleep at night, but would be happy to sleep on a dog bed beside her human's bed, too. Her ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard, but she would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as she gets daily exercise and has lots of toys to play with inside.
Kaida is in a foster home in South Texas and will be transported once adopted.
TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.
Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed.
The total cost to adopt is $630, which includes a $400 adoption fee and a $230 transport fee. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, spay procedure and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
