Meet Kershaw
Update from his foster home...
While some of the fun of fostering a dog is finding a name to call it while they are in your care, "Kershaw", the name given to this pup from the shelter where he was rescued, doesn't seem to fit. However, on a positive note, a simple whistle is all that is needed to get this pup's attention! So, for now, Whistle, (literally a whistle from your mouth) is his name. Whistle is 1.5 yrs old and approximately 50lbs. He is house trained and hasn't had a single accident while at his foster home. Somewhere along the line, he has learned "sit" and "lay down" commands. He is not a marker and tends to urinate only once while on his walks. His first trip to the off leash park saw him running and greeting other dogs but then checking in with his human and coming back when whistled for. As with all herding dogs, exercise is a must and then he will calm down and lay at your feet. He is good in the car, does not bark at other dogs, and can be left unattended in the car while you shop. He is kennel trained and sleeps through the night without a peep. He is not food aggressive with humans but will try to smooch after his foster sister's food if she is still eating after he has finished his meal. He will tug on the lease at the beginning of his walks but by the end, he walks easily at your side. He is still learning not to jump up on people and occasionally will try and hump other dogs. Overall, Whistle is an exuberant young fella who needs consistent direction but already, after a few days in foster care is learning fast. Whistle desperately wants a human to call his own, and perhaps with that, a name to call his own.

This handsome boy is some sort of Australian Shepherd mix.
He was a stray and came to us from the shelter so we don’t know much about his background.
He is kennel trained, uses a dog door, housetrained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped? He is the goofiest funny boy who has a lot of energy and will make you LOL. He loves water!
