Meet Kita
Kita!
Breed: German Shepherd
Gender: Female
Age: 10 (That’s debatable. See below.)
Weight: 80lbs
Good with…
Dogs: No
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, 7+ years
Kita came into foster care in May of 2022 from an overcrowded “farm” in Colorado. The rescue was told that Kita was not good with livestock, 9 years old, and possibly pregnant. She was an outside dog, not fed regularly and quite underweight. To say Kita was scared and anxious would be an understatement. We have since learned that Kita was not pregnant, and more likely to be around 7 years old. In the last year, with much patience, love, and fun, Kita has changed dramatically. Kita is a fun loving giant teddy bear! She will play with toys, roll onto her back, cuddle, and even chase the rabbits out of our yard! She is up to a normal weight, loves to eat, and try new snacks. Kita loves to play fetch in the backyard, nap wherever the floor is cold, be around people, ride in the car, and go for walks. We always know when someone, or a package, is at the door. Kita does still have some things to work on, as do most dogs. If you are looking to meet and/or adopt Kita you should know… 1. Kita will resource guard her food and toys from other animals. She is fine with kids and adults. 2. She can and will jump a 4 foot fence until she is comfortable in her surroundings, 3. Kita still has some anxiety troubles that may never go away. 5. Brushing her coat is best done outside. 6. Kita can be left alone in the house without destroying things or eating garbage. 7. Kita is friendly (with people), loyal, protective, lovable, and a goofball.
Give Kita a chance to show you what an amazing dog she is, and she will become part of your family.
