Meet Koda
Location: Boise, ID
Breed: Lab/Huskyu
Age: 3 years old
Adoption fee: $150
When Koda was dropped off at his Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster home by his former owner, he was described as a “big, lovable doofus”, and he’s proven himself to be just that! This 3-year-old Husky/Lab mix is a gentle giant, who in his foster home has proven to be good with most people, cats, and dogs. He loves belly rubs, playing fetch, and walks through the neighborhood, as well as relaxing in the yard on cool days.
While Koda has gotten along well with the small dog in his foster home, he does have a tendency to hump and try to dominate dogs closer to his size and will growl if challenged. For this reason, it will be important for him to meet any potential dog siblings prior to adoption. That said, he would be most happy as an only child, as he loves to be the center of attention and the recipient of all the pets.
Overall, Koda is a laid-back, affectionate dog, who loves bouts of play. He likes to chase balls, though won’t always return them. He will jump up when he’s excited, and for this reason would do best with older children, as he could knock over smaller kids very easily. He’s a very strong boy who pulls on a leash but walks very nicely with a gentle leader. His foster has also been working on leash walking with him, and he’s making some progress. He knows basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘down’ and isn’t a big barker, but will whine to tell you he wants something (especially walks!). We can’t wait to see Koda find him forever home!
