Meet Lacey
Lacey is a quintessential example of a Cairn Terrier, one of the oldest terrier breeds that hail from the Scottish Highlands. With her compact and sturdy frame, she carries the characteristic physical traits of her breed: a weather-resistant double coat that’s as rugged as the terrain of her ancestors, a foxy expression accentuated by keen, dark eyes and erect ears, and a well-balanced, active build.
Her coat, a unique blend of brindle shades, requires regular brushing to keep it free from mats, and it gives her a distinctive, almost tousled appearance reminiscent of the wild landscapes from which the Cairn Terrier emerged. Like many of her kind, Lacey has an undeniable air of confidence, a natural outcome of a breed developed to face foxes and other small game in the rocky cairns of Scotland.
Beyond her physical characteristics, Lacey embodies the lively and alert temperament that Cairn Terriers are renowned for. She's always on the move, curious about her surroundings, and ready to engage in playful antics. Despite her small size, she possesses a bold and tenacious spirit, making her a formidable opponent in play battles with her canine companions.
But it's not all about playfulness. Lacey, true to her breed, is remarkably loyal and forms close bonds with her human family. Her alert nature makes her an excellent watchdog, though her size may not necessarily deter larger intruders. Still, she'll make her presence known with a sharp bark, indicative of her innate protective instincts.
