Meet Lily
Lily, 1.5 years old, spayed female, Labrador/Pitbull mix, 55 lbs. She is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas and can transport to an approved adopter.
Lily found herself at an overcrowded shelter in Houston, Texas. She gave birth to a litter of puppies and they waited in the shelter for almost 3 weeks before a kind foster took them home. The puppies have all found their homes and now it's Lily turn!
Lily shares a home with other dogs. She has been very friendly and gets along great with them. She is a young dog and still very much a puppy herself in a lot of ways. She has great manners with other dogs.
She walks well on leash with little pulling. She often lays down on the ground and rolls over when getting her harness/leash to put on her. She is eager to explore and would make a great walking/running partner. She has no negative reactions when seeing other people/dogs out on walks.
She's only been around older kids but has been approached, petted and given snacks to by children as young as 4. She does get the zoomies and likes to run around, so we recommend a home with kids 8 years and older. She is a super sweet dog, but could unintentionally knock over a smaller kid.
She's up to play, go for a car ride, walk or just lounge all day. She would be best in a home with another dog. We have seen her gain a lot of confidence with having another dog in the home. She has learned how to "dog."
Lily is housebroken, but has had a few accidents when not taken out timely.
We are unsure of her past, but want to note loud noises do tend to scare her. She will flinch or cower with fast movements or loud verbal commands she doesn't understand.
Lily is looking for a patient, gentle home to shower her with love and understanding.
She loves toys. She NEEDS toys to redirect her. She will chew on things if there isn't a space just for her to go to work her toys. She loves to cuddle!! Loves kisses and she snores. She's quick to learn routines and truly enjoys family time.
Lily is a very loving and kind dog. She would benefit from a home who will continue to socialize her both with other dogs and people. She needs a home who will be gradual in introducing her to big world. She will thrive in structure, boundaries and lots of love.
We have no history with cats.
