Meet Lindy
The Rough Collie, often simply referred to as the "Collie," is a graceful, poised breed known for its elegant appearance and intelligent expression. Lindy, a distinguished member of this breed, embodies all the hallmarks that have made Rough Collies beloved the world over.
With a refined wedge-shaped head and an expressive almond-shaped eye, Lindy showcases the breed's innate intelligence and alertness. The Rough Collie's lush double coat, which can come in a myriad of colors including sable, tri-color, blue merle, and white, drapes over Lindy's strong and agile frame, adding to her regal bearing. This coat is particularly dense around the neck, creating the breed's characteristic mane, which is more pronounced in males.
Historically a herding dog, Lindy, like other Rough Collies, possesses a natural instinct to guard and protect. This trait, combined with their loyalty and gentleness, makes them excellent companions for families. Their keen intelligence and desire to please also make them highly trainable. While they are no longer primarily used for herding, their history is evident in their alertness, agility, and responsiveness.
Social by nature, Lindy thrives in the company of her human counterparts and gets along well with other animals. Proper socialization from a young age ensures that Rough Collies are comfortable in various settings, from bustling city streets to serene countryside.
One noteworthy aspect of the breed is their vocal nature. Lindy, like many of her peers, may use her voice to alert her family of strangers, or sometimes just to "talk" to her loved ones. It's a charming trait that, combined with her gentle demeanor, makes her a great addition to any household.
