Meet Loki
Loki is looking for a very special adopter - could it be you?
Loki was pulled from Talbot Co Humane Society in February 2021 after a few months there. He was listed as 5 years old but we believe he is older, possibly more like 9-10 years old. Loki is a very sweet cat that loves to hang out with his foster family. He's not much of a cuddler but he wants to be in the same room as you and sleep in your bed at night. He's got a lot of character and runs around the house doing 'happy hops'. He tries to race people up and down the stairs and plays with the other cats. He is very laidback and gets along with adults, cats, dogs, and kids.
Loki was diagnosed with diabetes while at TCHS. Two days after CCAD pulled him, he was rushed to the vet with diabetic ketoacidosis. While at the vet, we also found out he has Cushing's disease, which is caused by a non-cancerous tumor on the pituitary gland. It is being treated with a 2-times-a-day pill, which does not cure the disease but helps with the symptoms. The Cushing's also makes it hard to get his diabetes regulated, but it’s getting much better! Loki is currently on 8 units of insulin twice daily and eats 2 cans of Friskies every day.
