MAFIA Make A Friend In Animals
MAFIA was co-founded and incorporated in 2003 under the name of Fairfield Animal Rescue (FAR) as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity by two residents of Winnsboro, South Carolina, who wanted to begin a rescue for re-homing abused and abandoned pets in Fairfield County. Since that time, we have re-homed hundreds of dogs and cats, who have come to us from all over the state, and some have gone to new homes as far away as Pennsylvania and Florida. Home visits are required prior to adoption, even for long-distance placements, to ensure that the placement is within our strict guidelines. We have a life interest in every pet we rescue, and never discard a pet, regardless of their medical condition, aging or failure to receive a permanent home. Once they come into our Family, they are in for life. We hope that you will "Join the Family" through membership, volunteering, adoption, and/or tax-deductible donations.
Our outfit comes to the table every second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at a designated location. Show-up time is 7:00 p.m. Potential Soldiers are welcome to attend, but need to contact a MAFIA member for the meeting place each month.
