Maggie Jane, 4 years old, spayed female, Pitbull/Retriever mix, 55 pounds. She is in Houston, TEXAS and can transport to an approved adopter.
Maggie Jane was found wandering outside of a shelter in Houston. (We think now that her mate was taken into the shelter and she was waiting for him.) One of our foster mom's saw her and by the time she came back to get her, the shelter had snatched her up. Well this foster mom did not let that stop her, she networked a plan for her and we pulled her before she ended up on the euthanasia list. To our surprise a few weeks later, she had a litter of puppies!
All of Maggie Jane's puppies have found their furever homes and now it is her turn. Here is some info on this sweet momma
Maggie Jane is very sweet. She loves toys, walks and car rides. She is medium energy and sometimes she does not realize her own size. She loves to run around and will get the zoomies!
Maggie Jane is house trained and also crate trained. Her foster mom will leave the crate door open while she is at home so she can go in there when she wants to, but she is crated when left alone.
We have no history with kids and recommend a home with kids 12 years and older. We also have no history with cats.
She has met other dogs and really loves to play. She can play a little hard at times and then she settles down. She is submissive in her play so if things get too much for another dog and they let her know, she rolls over on her back. Or if another dog is more of the boss, she rolls right onto her back. She would do great with another dog who wants to play!
She is terrified of fireworks and will hide under the bed! We think she would be suited for most environments that will provide some physical/mental stimulation. She will do well with another dog or would be fine as the only dog too.
