Meet MAIZIE
MAIZIE is a majestic, loving SEAL BI-COLOR RAGDOLL. She is 8 years old, spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and is 4-paw declawed.

Maizie came to the rescue when her owner’s living situation changed and could no longer keep her. As an older kitty, Maizie is calm and set in her ways and takes time to adapt to change. When she hears her name she will meow back. She sleeps most of the day, but will also follow her favorite people around, asking sweetly to be petted.

Maizie’s long fur becomes easily matted, and she does not tolerate brushing or any petting in the area of her current or former mats (generally under her legs). She has been given a lion cut with the goal of finding an owner who can work with her on getting used to being petted or brushed without the pain of her long coat. The owner would start with treats and gentle petting, and then slowly work their way up through soft brushes to the type of brushes that could maintain her coat. SPCR cats with similar grooming issues have had much success with this method. She does not like to be held, but will sit next to you, or curl up on your desk if you work from home.
