Meet Mako
We are still getting to know Mako at the shelter. What we can say is that he was a part of a difficult living situation that included 15+ cats, and a few dogs. He cohabitated with many different cats, so he would be okay living with another feline friend in the home. He loves being with his previous feline housemates; cuddling up with them and being squished together in the same space. He was also around dogs, but because he is shy and timid, it would be best if he was in a home with a calm and relaxed dog compared to a home with a loud and energetic dog. Mako is nice and accepts being pet, and his gorgeous orange and fluffy fur is sure to attract anyone to him. Please treat him with kindness and patience. Respect his personal boundaries and please do not attempt to pick Mako up, no matter how tempting it may be. Please do not remove him from his possible hiding spots as it might frighten him. Offer your hand for him to smell and speak to him in a calm and gentle voice. If he doesn't want to be pet, please move your hand away. This fluffy boy just needs time and patience as well as proper care and love to fully trust people once again. A quiet and peaceful home would be the best environment for a cat like Mako. Mako, like any other cat, enjoys a crunchy tasty treat. He's even willing to take them right from your hand! He may follow you around the room and brush up against your legs to let you know he's there. We look forward to getting to know Mako's personality more during his stay at the Humane Society. If you want to get to know him more as well, come by to visit him during our open hours!
