At the end of 2022, a rescuer that we worked closely with died unexpectedly and the cats that lived with her were taken to the Animal Care Center. We became aware of the tragedy because one of the cat's microchips traced back to us and within days, we pulled all of the cats. Several of them were older like the exquisite, approximately 10 yr old, Russian Blue mix, Marta.
Marta is a little bit on edge when she first gets moved to a new home, understandably, but she quickly recognizes that she is in a safe space and you get to see her transform into a friendly, bed sharing, and delightfully playful gal. So playful, in fact, the foster is going to introduce some interactive toys for when she's not home or not able to be Marta's playmate. She remains alert to unfamiliar noises and we think she would do best as a single cat, in a calm quiet environment with an experienced cat parent. She recently had a full work up at the vet including dental x rays and a cleaning and she is in great health.
