Maverick

Due to border patrol restrictions, you'll be required to cross the border and meet in Blaine, WA to receive your pup :) Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio.

Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Maverick! Maverick is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.

Meet Maverick! Maverick was picked up as a stray in Houston, TX and turned into a high kill shelter.

He waited patiently, but a family never came for him.

The shelter was overflowing and he landed himself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space.

Maverick is 2 years old and estimated to be a boxer / pitbull terrier mix.

Maverick is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own.

Maverick is dog friendly and currently lives with 3 other dogs in his foster home.

He loves playing with his doggie friends! Maverick has not been cat tested.

Maverick loves humans of all sizes, but we would suggest a home with children ages 12 and up.

Maverick is fully potty trained and walks great on a leash! He gets excited to go for walks, but for the most part he stays right with his humans.

Maverick does not like to go into a crate, but instead prefers to free roam.

He's a good boy if left out and doesn't chew or get into trouble while left unattended.

Maverick loves car rides and going on adventures! He has the funniest underbite and it's guaranteed to keep you smiling! We do believe that Maverick was potentially "man-handled" in his past.

He's such a sweet boy, he just needs a patient family who will not grab him, try to shove him in a kennel or make sudden movements while he's settling in and learning to trust you (yah know, basic manners with a dog).

Maverick loves sharing toys with other dogs, but we do advise he be fed separate from other dogs.

We also believe he went for quite some time without food on the streets.

Again, he just needs a patient family to show him love and that he's going to always have another meal coming.

If we were to describe Maverick's energy level, we would say it's low - moderate.

He loves running and playing with his doggie friends in the yard, but in the evening, he's happy to just lounge on the couch and watch tv.

Maverick's perfect family would be one that has another dog to keep him company, but it's not a total deal breaker if you don't have another pup.
