Meet Maverick

Meet our special boy, Maverick! He was saved in the nick of time from the euthanasia list and is now looking for his forever home. Maverick is a beautiful German Shepherd mix and he loves his people. He would much rather hang out with his people throughout the day than play with toys. Maverick has shown a little interest in playing fetch with a ball, but really needs someone to work with him on this skill and show him how it’s done. One of his adorable characteristics is that he looks like he has a permanent smile on his face. We feel like this is fitting as he & is always such a happy boy.

Mav is wonderful on a leash and leashes up with ease. He’s eager to please and would love to explore and adventure with his human. We know Maverick is wicked smart and with some introduction to agility or scent work, we know we would love to learn some new things!

Maverick would do best as the only dog in the home. He’s met other dogs and did well with some, we consider him dog selective. It’s best to start if he’s the only furry family member at home. Once Maverick feels safe and secure, we think he may venture out of his shell.

When Maverick was saved from the shelter, he was heartworm positive and not feeling his best. He’s been fully vetted and had his heartworm treatments. He’s starting to feel amazing, and we see his personality coming out in bits and pieces. Maverick likes to stick his legs in his water bowl. This silly boy would just love a pool or a river to cool down in. We think he might enjoy swimming as he seems to want to swim in his bowl! Maverick is Maverick would love to go hiking and try out swimming. Now that he's feeling great, he’s looking for someone to keep up with him and show him the world.

We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.
