Meet Max

Max is a neutered male red heeler who is about 3.5 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. He initially came into the rescue about three years ago. Unfortunately the owners had a family situation arise and they had to make a very difficult decision to surrender. The only issues with handsome Max are door aggression and his current weight. He has a typical ACD guarding trait.

He loves walks and will rush to the door for an adventure. He is not a barker snd lived with a companion dog. He is being fostered with my multiple dogs. If adopted into a home with another dog would need to be his same medium energy.

He is absolutely wonderful with people outside the home. He is great in the car, on leash and completely house trained. He can be left free to roam at all times with no issues. He will try to leave with you when you need to leave the home. He currently sleeps on dog bed in bedroom and will be your constant companion. His adopter needs to have experience with the breed. He has not been cat or child tested tested. I would recommend older children at this time. The adopter MUST be committed to continuing a weight management program. A home with a fenced yard and active owner is required. He favorite toy is a herding ball.

He is current on all vaccinations and heart worm and flea and tick preventatives. His last annual vet visit was late January 2023.

He is being fostered in Wilmington, Delaware. Meet and greets with potential adopters is preferred.
