Meet Meteo
Meteo is currently in residence with a trainer who is teaching him impulse control, how to focus and be able to able to enjoy both play and down time. He is doing exceptionally well, enjoying off leash play time, the busy downtown life and his foster sibling.
Back Story: This handsome boy was found as a stray, discarded in a ditch, by a Canadian while travelling in Greece last spring.. He was thus named Meteo due to the geographic location and was covered in ticks and perhaps only 4/5 weeks old. His rescuer took him to be vetted and left him in the care of a facility until he could arrive in Canada. We welcomed him last September but noticed he had a very unusual gait, diagnosed as Rickets, a deficiency of vitamin D as well as a balanced diet. Our partner vet had seen such cases before and prescribed him a diet of large breed puppy food and limited exercise, saying that this is quite curable in puppies as they continue to grow. Meteo is very affectionate and has bonded quickly with his family, gets along well with cats, his canine foster sibling and is crate trained. He was initially very leash reactive with other dogs and is now doing very well on a leash. He adores other dogs and is eager to play.
Meteo is now looking for his new family and would love one with a fenced yard. Older dog savvy children would be a lovely addition as would another dog in the family.
