Meet Michael
I’m a super sociable pup with both humans and dogs. I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea, then transferred to Mission Mayday because I was coughing. Now I’m ready to find a furever home. I’m housebroken and I love to learn, so I’m ready for new adventures with my future family!
On walks, I want to say hello to other dogs. I love playing with young pups my size, but I don’t like dogs that are too intense and don’t respect my bubble. So my canine buddies will have to be carefully selected and my interactions with them monitored to ensure they don’t overstep my limits.
I need to improve on several levels, but I’m making great progress. I’m learning to be a family dog and I love it! Heeling needs further work, but I can live in the city without any problems. I still pull on the leash in certain situations and still nip during play or when I want attention. So I need help with these behaviours. I understand very well the meaning of “c’est bien” (that’s good) and I expect a treat after you say it.
I follow humans around the house. I'm good with guests; I very rarely jump on people. I don't make a mess anymore, but if I see something within my reach, I grab it (towel, Tupperware lid, stocking, etc.). I get up against the counter when humans are preparing food because I’m curious, but I don’t try to steal food from plates. I’m just a “puppy” in a big body!
At first, I got into mischief because I wasn’t familiar with life in a house, so I learned to stay calm in the cage. Now I get free run of the house. I used to guard the couch, but this was quickly resolved. I’m new to cuddling, but I’m enjoying it more and more. So I’m looking for humans who’ll take the time to let us get used to each other.
