About Me: Hi Y’all! My name is Miso, I am a Texas native that was rescued in , I was adopted by a kind and loving family but I recently started to fight with my older dog roommate.
It is with a heavy heart that my family has decided to rehome me so that I can thrive and live my best puppy life.
The realization is that I can’t live in an apartment — I need space to run and a confident owner who can give me a relaxed home with fewer triggers.
That being said, I LOVE Doggie Daycare, I can be with my friends and play all day.
Here are some of my favourite things: Learning to swim.
Running through the woods.
Playing in the dog park.
My ball!
Playing chase with other dogs — I like to show off how fast I can run.
Eating breakfast from my Kong toy and enrichment games.
Opening presents.
NAPS!
Check out more of my photos on my Facebook Gallery! Trainer Notes: Miso is a goofy, loveable, and playful 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog X Bloodhound Mix, who is definitely true to his breeds.
He is protective of his people, has lots of energy, and is always up for an adventure, but is also a big-time napper.
His favourite things are learning to swim at the beach or river, running through the woods, enrichment games, and playing in the dog park and he LOVES his ball.
Most of all he loves being chased by other dogs so he can show off how fast he is! He is good with other dogs in places like a trail, daycare, or dog park but can sometimes react on a leash if he gets a bad vibe.
He has spent lots of time with other dogs in our home and has always come home from daycare with gold stars! He lives with a small dog and many cats as well as the occasional foster pup.
He loves his kitty siblings! He does like to play so cats need to be dog savvy.
Miso has struggled with stranger danger; however, the password to his heart is treats and respecting his boundaries.
Over the last 2.5 years, he has worked with Kelly from The Pack Dog Training to overcome this.
In the past, Miso has had some stomach issues over the years; however, all of the tests have always come back inconclusive.
We have found that a hydrolyzed protein-based diet, combined with probiotics, and single-ingredient treats (for example: dehydrated sardines, beef liver, etc), are the key to a happy tummy.
We avoid chicken.
Miso will make the most loyal, loving, and hilarious best friend who will make a great addition to a semi-active home, that is not too busy and doesn't have any young children.
We think he would do great having another dog to play with in the house or even a cat roommate.
He is incredibly attached to who he sees as his owner and will love you unconditionally.
He is incredibly smart and loves his toilet button to let you know when he needs to go out.
He is a quick learner and loves all kinds of mental training.
He is crate trained but is not a fan of being in it unless he sleeps in it.
He gets major FOMO! He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines, as well as he comes with the best pet insurance which has always covered anything in the past.
This will be transferred to his new owners.
