Meet Monk! Monk was happily residing with his dad in a senior community, but after an incident with a stranger led to the director of the senior community calling for Monk's removal, his family sprung into action.
They made every effort to avoid rehoming him including working with a dog trainer and muzzle training him to prove that this incident was very out of character, but the director was unconvinced and insisted that Monk leave.
Monk's family reached out to FFF and asked us to help him find a new home through our Final Wish Program.
He is 8 years old and weighs 82 lbs.
Monk left on a two-week Frosted Fling soon after he arrived at FFF in December, and that quickly turned into a Foster home.
We have learned so much about him! His Foster Mom reports: "Hunky Monky is quite the charmer with a big personality.
He loves everyone that he meets and they love him back equally.
He loves to lean into people when they are petting him and he really turns on the charm when he does this.
I have never seen him behave even remotely aggressively or try to bite anyone.
He is simply a good boy! Monk is also lots of fun, enjoys playing fetch, extremely loyal to his people, good with other dogs, and is perfectly potty trained.
He gets excited for walks and has never met a piece of food that he didn't enjoy.
Monk is obsessed with squeaky toys and his forever family must be prepared to hear lots of squeaking in the future and be financially prepared for a decent toy budget.
He had his intake exam and has no major medical issues and is not currently taking any medication.
That's pretty rare for a Frosted Face! Monk is definitely comfortable in a home environment and picked up our routine easily.
He is well trained, knows basic commands, socialized, and loves making new dog friends.
He would make a wonderful companion for just about anyone! Monk is ready for his forever home! Might it be with you?
