After being surrendered to the shelter, due to his medical condition, he was set to be killed yesterday.
Volunteers had become quite smitten with this fella because of his sweet and playful personality.
Mylo showed his love of toys and happily romped around the yard with them.
He took breaks from the fun to cozy up to his human friends for lots of cuddles too.
He did well in playgroup where he's described as tolerant around the other pups.
He also had multiple kennel mates and did well with them! Everyone was heartbroken that he was out of time.
Mylo was MEDICALLY ALERTED for a suspected mass in his left ear, requiring a possible ablation.
He had to be SAVED BY 2/9 at 4PM and because of a committed foster, we were able to do just that.
He went from the shelter, directly to our vet and here's what we know so far: Due to severe pain, Mylo had to be sedated to assess the damage to his ear.
Our Dr was able to scope the full ear, and while no mass was detected, cartilage was seen closing the ear canal with a severe infection and the ear is very deformed.
We performed a culture and sensitivity to determine if an ablation is needed (those results should be back next week).
Both ears were cleaned, he has mild tarter, his heart and lungs look good and the bloodwork and urinalysis results should come back this coming week.
He will be rechecked in 2 weeks.
If there is no improvement from the antibiotics and pain meds, then we we will schedule CT scan to determine next steps for an ablation.
Mylo is approximately 5-7 years old and 76 lbs.
