Meet Nacho! Nacho came to us from the Humane Society of Imperial County on October 24th.
He is 9 years old and weighs 63 lbs.
Nacho is very sweet, likes playing with toys, and does well with his Frosted friends in our play yard.
Nacho went on a two-week Frosted Fling and is such a special boy, his Fling Family has decided to foster him until he has a forever home.
He has now been in his foster home for 3 months and is patiently waiting for his forever family.
Here's what his fosters told us about him: "Nacho is a well mannered lover! He doesn't jump on people when he meets them, just walks up and bows his head politely for pets.
He doesn't even lick us (to my daughter's disappointment) and if he finds someone to pet him, he proceeds to flop over on his side for belly 's his favorite! Things that Nacho wants his future family to know: - He's potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night.
- Walks nicely on a loose leash, listens to "no" or "uh uh", and rarely barks at all.
He's basically perfect! - He's a foodie with perfect manners! While there's nothing he loves more than food (dog food, treats and people food alike), he sits politely waiting for you to feed him.
No jumping or barking or counter surfing here.
And he's not picky.
We've been feeding him dry dog food with no complaints, and he didn't seem to mind when we switched brands either.
Note: Nacho will eat his food and our resident dog's food too if we don't keep them in separate rooms to eat.
- He's a strong chewer! Has gotten the ears or legs off most stuffy toys in our house in seconds flat.
And those "long lasting" chews that are meant to keep dogs busy for a while somehow disappear in mere minutes with this guy.
When we first got him, he didn't know what to do with a Kong, but he's since come around, and we alternate that into his routine.
- Nacho lives with a bigger foster sister and he does well with big dogs and small dogs.
He and our dog play well together, and he doesn't seem to have any resource guarding issues.
- This sweet guy is so easy going and politely seek pets from everyone he meets.
He's met kids as young as 2 and does great.
Just plops down and bows his head for pets.
Just a warning, as long as someone's petting him, he's not going anywhere! - Nacho does very well in the car.
sometimes sleeps on the floor and sometimes sits in the passenger side to look out the window.
I think he'd be a great traveling dog for someone living the van life or going on RV trips.
Whoever adopts Nacho will be getting the BEST boy!" Does Nacho sound like the best friend you've been looking for?
