Hellooooo kind Canadians! My name is NASH and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Chihuahua Mix Age: 2 years (approx.) Gender: Male Weight: 9 lbs (4.1 kg) Height: 26 cm (floor to shoulders) Length: 51 cm (head to butt) Chest: 39 cm Neck: 27 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - I was found abandoned outside a house in Los Dinamos, a mountain with a cold and humid climate in Mexico City.
I was left in a little box, shaking with fear.
I was terrified and didn't trust humans at all.
A kind soul found me and called Silvia, the owner of the shelter here in Mexico, and she came and took me in.
Silvia took me to the vet and made sure I got all the medical attention I needed.
4 months have passed since then and I have learned to trust humans again! I am ready to receive endless love in my forever home for the rest of my life- I sure deserve it after all I've been through so far! TEMPERAMENT - Considering my background, I am understandably quite shy.
I am looking for a kind hearted, patient human who wants to help me get comfy and flourish into my bestest, most confident self! I am quite shy upon first introductions and I kinda get embarrassed if you catch me playing, but little by little I am becoming more confident.
I enjoy playing with my friends at the shelter, particularly the puppies who are my size.
At night, I like to cuddle up with the puppies (who are snuggling with their mama dog).
I really just want to be loved and safe! I enjoy going for walks and am a calm, sweet boy.
I warm up to people pretty quickly and am eager for affection.
I don't love to be carried around much...
I prefer to walk on my own 4 feet! ENERGY LEVEL - Low/medium - I am a pretty chill boy! I have bouts of playfullness and I enjoy walkies, but then I'm more than happy to cuddle up and snooze.
I am just looking to spend the rest of my life hanging out with a really nice person who wants a cuddle buddy.
GETS ALONG WITH: Kids Unknown.
I haven't had much experience around kiddos, but I am good with people once I get to know them.
If a proper introduction is done and my boundaries are respected, I'd probably be ok.
Dogs Yes! I get along well with my fellow pups at the shelter.
Cats Unknown.
PREY DRIVE - Unknown.
I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING: Leash skills Work in progress.
It is highly unlikely I was ever walked on a leash before my rescue.
I am quite timid and need a confident human to show me how this whole walking thing is done! House trained Work in progress.
I might have some accidents when I first go to a new home and learn my surroundings, but I am confident I can figure it out quickly with frequent potty breaks and lots of positive reinforcement.
Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges).
Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates.
WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc.
before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted.
West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits.
These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $ CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
