NINA is... well.... PERFECT! Her owner surrendered her when evicted, and it was a horrible shock to 5 yr old NINA. She had been loved, well-trained, and closely bonded with her momma. But she's a strong, brave, resilient, little (7.2#) girl, and is now making friends in her new foster home. NINA is a calm, regal, classy lady. She's very quiet (only barks if she really needs help), has impeccable manners (no begging, whining, clawing), and obediently follows voice and hand instructions. She always comes when called if she isn't already shadowing me. After she checks to see what I'm doing in the bathroom, she goes to wait politely for me in the hall. NINA's velvety coat doesn't shed, she sleeps in the Big Bed without moving around, is totally potty trained, and LOVES kisses, cuddles, and massages ALL over her body, even ears and feet. And she'll press her cheek against my mouth so I can smooch on her! She walks well on leash, gliding along beside me without pulling, and rides quietly in the car, watching or napping. NINA isn't fond of the cooler temps, and enjoys the comfort of sweaters and parkas. She loves to sunbathe out in a fenced yard or will hop up on a dining chair, sofa or lanai glider to catch a sunbeam. But she also likes to curl up in a fluffy dog bed. NINA is cooperative during baths and ears cleanings (we haven't dremeled her nails yet). Although I'm pretty sure she's been an "only dog", she gets along with other dogs just fine, but has no interest in them, really. She loves her peeps, they are her world. NINA is a smart little cookie, is really focused and attentive, and eager to please. We haven't seen her act playful, per se, maybe she needs some more time to find her happy place, or perhaps she is just a more serious type of girl. Regardless, she is loyal and devoted, and we're committed to finding this homeless angel a family that will love her until the end of time.
Our application process:
FIRST, an application must be approved for adoption from our rescue.
SECOND, we determine whether the dog that has been applied for is a "good match" for the household that wants to adopt him/her. We take into consideration the dog's activity level, compatibility with other members of the household (human and other pets), etc.
If your application has been approved, but the dog you applied for is no longer available, please take the time and look over our adoptable dogs again. We will make every effort to find the right dog for an approved applicant.
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered.
