This is Oso.
What he's missing in legs he makes up for in head (it's real big).
Some of you might remember reading about Oso in the news about a month ago, shortly after he was shot in the chest by someone entering his guardian's tent near the Pajaro River levee.
Our partners over at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter took Oso in and provided him with emergency surgery after the bullet completely shattered his leg.
Unfortunately the leg couldn't be saved -- but fortunately, Oso looks just as handsome as a tri-pawed.
And he's now with us to find a loving home! This big (70ish pound) goofy boy holds no grudges and is very friendly, affectionate, and playful with people.
He loves belly rubs, baby talk, and toys, toYS, TOYS! The bigger and squeakier the better, and he'll joyfully throw them for himself.
This handsome guy is only about a year old and still quite strong and energetic.
His stamina might not be what it used to be (with all fours) but his new physique doesn't slow him down all that much.
He still very much enjoys walkies, yard zoomies, and being paired with another playful pup for playgroup.
There is so more to learn about Oso, including how cute that big head is in real life -- so come on in during Browsing Hours (Wed - Sun from 11 -5pm) to check him out!
