I can go to a home with:
Dogs: Well-Matched Cats: Possible, well-matched
Children: Teenagers and older, well-matched Meet Panda! This magnificent fellow came to us when his previous owner realized they could not provide the necessary care for a young, boisterous, intelligent dog.
He was sadly spending a lot of time in their small yard, bored and lonely.
We are grateful they trusted us to take over his care and find him a new home.
Panda is a riot.
He loves to play, play, play! He enjoys a good game of fetch, but doesn’t promise to bring it back, so you might need to have a few toys in your back pocket! Panda has a good heart, but he needs a patient, dedicated family to help him learn how to be the best boy – in a humane, force-free manner, of course.
We are recommending a home with no small children, due to his roughhouse style (he thinks it’s great fun to pretend-attack your shoes when you walk, and loves to jump up to say hi up-close and personal).
Panda would love a family that can take him on fun neighbourhood adventures.
We have been told that he gets car-sick, so road trips aren’t in his immediate future.
However, if that is something important to you, we suggest a very gradual desensitization program with the guidance of your veterinarian and/or a force-free trainer.
Panda has shown great promise with the other dogs we have at the shelter.
We are hopeful that he can share a home with a well-matched dog buddy.
Reportedly, he played with the family cat without issue, so a dog-savvy cat friend could be in his cards.
Panda is 1 year, 9 months old.
He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has received parasite prevention treatment.
His adoption fee is $350 + tax.
If you are interested in meeting Panda, the first step is to submit an adoption application form.
This allows our care team to have an in-depth conversation with you prior to setting up a meeting.
