Meet Panda
Panda came to us after being dumped at a high kill overcrowded shelter in Southern UT. Her elderly owner had passed away and the adult children "disposed" of her. So sad and something we in Rescue see happen over and over.
Panda, or "Grammie" as we call her her on the Farm is just the BEST of everything in a ACD. She's so loyal, devoted and loving. Her former owner over fed her to the point of morbid obesity. Poor thing could hardly walk when she first got here, which is probably why the shelter staff aged her around 10 yrs. I think she may be closer to 8. She is getting more and more energy and mobility as the pounds shed off. She is feeling so much better. Her new owner will need to be as consistent with quality meals in the appropriate portions to continue on her weight loss to health.
She could get along and do well in any living situation, but I think a home with a lonely senior who is still active and will walk her regularly every day would be best. You MUST love a dog that wants to be stuck to your side and have you in direct eyesight. She doesn't do anything naughty, but she would much prefer to be with someone who doesn't leave her home alone for more than a couple hours at a time. She is tolerant of all other dogs, but doesn't interact or play yet. She is completely oblivious to cats, chickens, and ducks and seems to have some "horse sense" as she is good at staying out from under them.
