Paolo, 1.5 years old, neutered male, Australian Cattle dog/Pitbull mix, 43 pounds. He is in a foster HOUSTON, Texas and is able to transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
Paolo has a very gentle play style when interacting with other dogs. He doesn't engage in play all the time, but rather, he enjoys play sessions occasionally.
Despite being a relatively young dog, his energy level is actually quite low. He seems to have a calm and relaxed demeanor. He shares a foster home with an 11 year old dog who is about the same size. Paolo is quite perceptive when it comes to other dogs' cues. He picks up on signals and clues from the senior dog, who occasionally prefers not to play. When the senior dog indicates he's done playing, Paolo respects that and stops immediately.
During walks, he's encountered other dogs in the neighborhood, and Paolo has shown friendly behavior. He tends to approach and greet other dogs by sniffing, demonstrating a sociable demeanor. He does tend to walk all over when on walks, trying to sniff everything. He does not pull too often.
Paolo is housebroken and has done well when crated. He has a tendency to chew on things he finds in the house- slippers, small stuffed animals etc. He is easily redirected. He takes treats very gently and has not shown any resource guarding.
He is not a big fan of car rides. He has some anxiety when in the car. He LOVES his toys and plays with them pretty regularly. He likes to play outside and is generally fairly calm in the house.
We have no history with cats or kids. We recommend a home with kids 10 years and older.
Paolo is a very friendly guy looking for a home of his own!
