Meet Peabody
PEABODY IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Peabody is a squishy, wiggly bowling ball who would love to have a new adventure partner! Peabody was a little shy on arrival, which is hard for us to picture now, since he's such a goofball. He meets new people nicely and will lean in for more pets. He loves playing with toys and with other dogs who match his energy level. He has had pushy female canine companions and tolerated them very well. He was found as a stray, so while we don't know his history with children, we think he could acclimate well to a home with children, with the right parental supervision. His kennel presentation is where he turns off potential adopters, as he can bark at new strangers from his kennel (not in a play yard, and not in person) and can jump very high, often taking out his energy by springing high up when new people walk by. He is otherwise an awesome dog, and has been the ONLY play partner we can put rowdy dogs with, due to his high tolerance for high energy dogs, and he has not tried to escalate any of their correcting behaviors towards him. He loves to play with toys and has no problem sharing his toys with people or dog friends. His kennel presentation is really the only thing holding him back.
Peabody would definitely benefit from a round of positive reinforcement training! Again, being in the shelter for the past several months is taking its toll on him. Positive training classes are a great way to bond with your new canine companion, too. Surely there is a family out there that is willing to give Peabody the time and love he needs to decompress....You would be rewarded with an adventure loving pal for the rest of your life! Do you already have a canine family member? Peabody would love to live with another dog.
