MY STORY:
Perkins and his friend, Villi, came to us after their owner passed away and no one in the family was able to take them. As would be expected they were very scared and upset when losing their owner and the only home they had ever known. It took him some time to settle in but now we see his overly loving purrsonality. His coat had become extremely matted before he was brought in and was given a buzz coat on most of his body, except for his extremely fluffy tail and head although it is growing back in very nicely.

Perkins loves attention and his preferred place to hang out is a lap! He's not too much into playing with toys but would make an excellent tv watching or napping companion. He has a deformed front paw that is much longer than the other and curls but it gives him no issues in getting around or using the litterbox. He's a big boy befitting of his Maine Coon heritage and when his coat has grown back in he will have the fluffy long coat of the breed. Perkins definitely had his struggles with coming to the shelter and was not happy in a cage and with our food.....so he now resides in the only room we had open - the bathroom - and prefers to eat a sensitive stomach and skin food. Let's just say you'll never be lonely when using our bathroom! We're not sure how he does with other kitties as the shelter environment has been so upsetting to him, but assume he is ok with them since he lived with one in his former home.

Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
