Meet Pete
ABOUT PETE
He came to HAP originally in Spring 2022 as a young puppy and was adopted. His owners are expecting a new baby and felt a young dog would be too much, so he was surrendered back to us for adoption. Despite being returned, he has been very comfortable with our staff and loves to run around outside. While we knew him as a pup, we are now learning about him as an adult. Pete loves other doggy friends and has done great in playgroup. He has a more lively play style and is still learning that the rough n' tumble pups mean well. He can be timid in unfamiliar circumstances, but always checks in with people he knows for some reassurance that it's okay. He is very food motivated to learn and already knows basic commands. While he enjoys walking, he loves racing around our fenced fields to get his zoomies out. Pete has not been introduced to small children yet, but would likely prefer older kids that can go slow with him.
Be sure to check back for more! In the meantime, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire if interested in adoption! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis. We are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come for the meeting to ensure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
