Meet Pickles Pickles has had a tough start to life.
Living solely outdoors confined to a run amongst their urine and feces- Pickles came into our care scared, covered in filth and shut down.
Prior to coming into care, Pickles has had little to no social experiences with humans and the outside world.
Everything is brand new and can be very overwhelming.
Over the last month, staff have worked patiently and tirelessly on developing their confidence around new experiences.
We have found he LIGHTS UP in the presence of most other dogs, especially females, and MUST go into a home with another confident canine companion.
Pickles is still learning to trust people and has not yet sought out pets but he will come to you and will now sit near you.
Learning to walk on a leash is still something that will have to be worked on.
Pickles needs a home that is an experienced, quiet, adult only detached house with a fenced yard access where he can continue to work on housetraining along with growing his confidence and desire to interact with people.
Pickles loves toys, especially squeaky toys, and can be very playful! Due to his behaviour challenges in shelter, we would love to offer the potential adopter a chance to foster them while we learn more about him in a home environment.
We have arranged an Animal Kind Trainer to work with him in the home and continue supporting their care.
If are interested in adopting please submit an application on line Please note, we are seeking a special, experienced home for Pickles and will be prioritizing applicants who meet these requirements.
