Meet Pippy

Three year old, 7 lb, Pippy's first owner, found herself in need of the support of an assisted living community, due to age and mobility issues. She got a doctor to sign a note, saying she needed Pippy as an ESA (Emotional Support Animal) but Pippy was not aware this was her role and her lack of housebreaking (at the time) and excitement barking (helloooo... she's a chihuahua) got her kicked out with no place to go, so we took this fun little sprite in.

What we discovered was a very clever girl who, learns fast when given the opportunity.

She quickly housebroke, once she was allowed to go outside as often as she needed to and though still an excitement barker, quiets down when told to. She just wants you to acknowledge her and give her lovins'.

Chihuahuas are sometimes sold short, when it comes to love of adventure but Pippy here has proven to be a good farm dog and enjoys her time out with her foster, helping with chores. She has a very inquisitive mind and loves to follow her nose around the pasture. Braver than she might look, she is happy to go out and throw hay to the horses and freshen up water troughs. She even likes to dig around in the wonderful smells and just be a normal dog, rather than a lap ornament all the time BUT...

...she is really good at being a lap ornament too. So when the chores are done and the errands run, she loves to snuggle down to a good book or movie with her person, for a nice relaxing bit of one on one time and to burrow under the covers at night

Pippy lives in a home with a couple dog savvy cats and a variety of dogs in every shape, size and gender. She does great with all.

She is a good traveler too plus is great on a leash and was a good patient at the vet clinic, for her nail trim and exams.

So for the most part, if a potential adopter is willing to set a few rules and is physically capable of enforcing them, Pippy is a model citizen with the ground work already laid. She is adorable, happy, silly, easy to have around and would love a home where there is a balance of things to do and lazy days too. Plus she LOVES kids!!

Pippy is spayed, up to date on five way and rabies vaccinations, microchipped, fecal checked free of intestinal bugs, is flea and tick free and ready to go.

and meet the dog and take it home with you.

*We do not pick the first good application. We pick the
most suitable application for the dog, out of all
submitted.
*All correspondence is handled via email as time allows.
* If you are not chosen, you will not be notified
