Meet Pogo

POGO is an absolutely adorable 8 year old sable boy who was sadly given up when his family could not take him when they moved. When Pogo first came into SOSR, he was very sad and did not wag his tail at all for about a week....now he's a *tail-wagging machine!* He LOVES to be told he's a *good boy* and craves affection and attention.

He has been shaved several times in the past and has a few areas where the hair has not yet fully grown in from last Spring. Pogo's coat is lovely and thick and very healthy and he will be stunning when it all grows in.

Pogo was kept indoors for his entire life, NEVER going outside even for potty trips. He was very reluctant to step outside, but with patience and kindness, he now loves to go outside with the other household dogs to explore the yard. His housetraining is an ongoing thing and not 100% just yet. With never being walked previously, Pogo needs to be walked in a very quiet area as he is frightened by cars and trucks whizzing by.

Part of Pogo's vetting was a complete dental in which some teeth were extracted. He has a beautiful healthy Sheltie smile now and no medical issues!

Pogo has lost 15 lbs. since he came into SOSR (now weighs 30 lbs.) and has a couple more to go. He is so much more playful and active without that weight. His new family must be committed to never letting him gain that weight back.

Even though he didn't have any dogs in his life for 8 years, Pogo now regularly plays with an 11 month old Collie mix, so he would be fine in a household with or without other dogs.
