Meet Polo
Hey out there...I'm Polo, a former bait dog, and I seem shy and scared at first because I'm not sure if I am truly out of danger and not sure who I can trust and I thought the world was a scary place until someone picked me up in a truck and brought me to this shelter and I'm discovering that people can be kind and treat me in a way that I'm not used to. This nice lady came and tried to get me outside but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go at first but when I finally got outside in the grass and fresh air, I didn't feel as scared anymore and I had this feeling that I wanted to be close to her because she was so nice. She gave me treats and kept taking my photo like she thought I was cute or something, but look at me...I have lots of cuts and scars and wanted them to heal before I showed myself to those of you out there that might want to consider helping me by giving me a safe, secure and loving home for the first time in my life. I am waiting and hoping it will be someone that loves me as much as I want to love them back.

Polo is absolutely precious and even though timid at first, she started warming up with some TLC and reassurance that she could trust me. She made eye contact often as if she needed constant affirmation. She actually began wagging her tail and cuddling before we finished our time outside together. She even grabbed a stuffed toy and shook it a few times so I can tell in time and in the right environment, she will come out of her shell and be the sweetest and even playful pet when she can truly relax and know she is not in danger anymore. She has the most beautiful golden eyes, cute perky terrier ears, pretty coat of fur and smiles when she finally relaxes in your presence. An absolute doll. Won't you be this sweet baby's hero? There is nothing more rewarding that rescuing a dog and watching them blossom and become all they are meant to be and you can be guaranteed a grateful and "velcro" pup for life!
