Meet Porsche
Meet Porsche. Porsche is about two years old and a female Rat Terrier Mix. She was a stray found in Texas with two other dogs. Fully vetted, spayed and weighs about 16 pounds.
A more loving and loyal dog you would be hard pressed to find. Those liquid brown eyes are filled with love for her person. Once you gain her trust she will give her all to you. She is so bouncy and funny when there is a treat being offered that you can't help but smile.
She is crate trained, good with other dogs, and house broken with supervision and proper timing. She has medium energy and loves to snuggle with you once she trusts you. Very athletic and she would be good at dog sports. She loves to chew (elk antler splits and toilet paper rolls are favorites) so she will need to be supervised. Food motivated and smart.
Porsche is alert and will bark to warn you so she would not do well in an apartment. Since she is wary of new situations, the ideal placement would be in a quiet, calm house with a patient terrier savvy adopter that will give her the time and security she craves. As she has a terrier prey drive and has not seen a cat while in foster, it is unknown how she would be with cats. Given time and proper introductions, she should be OK with older children.
A secure fenced yard would be required and the use of a martingale collar. Using a harness as well is advised. Her leash walking skills are a work in progress, but of course being a terrier she has her opinions on the project. She should be double leashed when walking, one on a collar on one on the harness.
She has blossomed in her foster home and all she needs is an adopter who will be committed to her, patient and kind. The reward will be her total love and loyalty. She is so worth it.
