Meet Potter
Potter is one of 33 dogs that we removed from a hoarding situation in November. From what we understand he was not provided much positive interaction with humans and was possibly tied up outside.
Due to his past, he is very very nervous and doesn't trust his human counterparts fully. He is absolutely non aggressive by nature, but he will run from a human at any given time..
Because of his level of distrust, he needs a home with a fully secure fenced yard, a very quiet neighborhood with little foot traffic so he can learn that walks on leash are ok, and that his human will provide him safety.
In the home he can drag his leash around and not be forced to interact with the humans. Just allowing him to be, to watch and allowing him to choose when he feels safe to interact is important for his rehab.
Because he is a flight risk, using a double leash method is the only way to walk him. 1 leash in a martingale collar and 1 leash on a 3 point harness.
We believe in time he will become the most wonderful friend. But years of trauma takes a long time to heal.
